The Piano Connection
A Music Teacher Founded Service Connecting Buyers and Sellers of Pianos
This is a truly first class instrument from a
now-hard-to-find Steinway vintage, completely restored to its
original magnificence. It is refinished, rebuilt with all-new
action, hammers, and strings, and was recently regulated and
voiced.
The exceptional flame walnut veneer, finished in a rich mahogany
tone, is simply stunning.
Jeffrey Moidel, concert pianist, professor, Cornish College of
the Arts, and judge for the 2006 VIlla Lobos International Piano
Competition, says of this instrument: "The action is exquisitely sensitive. When played softly, the
tone is warm and round; when played forte, it is rich and
brilliant without a hint of harshness. Close your eyes, and
you'll swear that you're playing a much larger Steinway
'B'."
The piano's Hamburg lineage shows up in materials and infinite
attention to craftsmanship and detail, such as the Steinway &
Sons insignia inlaid in brass (instead of a decal).
A gorgeous and comfortably upholstered Chinese Chippendale
bench, reproduced from an original made in 1765, is included.
This exceptional instrument must be seen, played, and heard to
be fully appreciated.
